We are excited to once more be back on the road with our, ‘Conquer Anxiety, Upgrade Your Life’ workshops! It’s always fabulous to be able to personally meet so many of you. Plus, it’s sensational that we can now see even more of you in slightly larger groups, given life is starting to return back to normal. Our London Heathrow workshop was last Saturday, the previous Saturday we were in Leeds – and we’re still feeling absolutely exhilarated by both.

In the workshops we share the five step formulae for our unique therapy, anxiety calming techniques, our pragmatic approach, plus positivity, warmth and friendship. We also explain how you can ease your anxieties to create a much more positive outlook and happier future!

Will I meet The Speakmans personally?

Yes, absolutely. The workshops are a great opportunity for you to personally meet us, as we spend the whole day with attending delegates, with opportunities to chat to us during the morning, afternoon and lunch break.

Can I ask questions?

Yes, yes, yes! There are so many opportunities to ask questions throughout the day.

Will I have to bring my own food and refreshments?

No. Unlimited refreshments (water, teas, coffees & more), 2 or 3 course lunch, pastries, cookies, fruit and sweets are all included for you.

Are the workshops large groups in a theatre setting?

Absolutely not. The workshops are very relaxed, held in a private hotel meeting room to ensure that you obtain the maximum benefit you can from the day. Attendees are kept to a small number that allows us to meet everyone throughout the course of the day.

I am very nervous about attending and will be coming alone. Will I be the only one?

Definitely not. 80% of delegates attend on their own, with as many as 90% struggling with anxiety – so they are very nervous too. But you don’t need to worry – our team will welcome you and make you comfortable from the moment you arrive. From our observations and experience in previous workshops, our delegates make friends and chat with each other often throughout the day, therefore you will soon feel at ease. Over the years, many have made lifelong friends.

Will I be expected to speak out?

Absolutely not. You can just relax and absorb all the valuable and often life-changing information shared. If however you want to volunteer for one of the many demonstrations that we perform for phobias, PTSD, food addiction, confidence and many more then for sure you can.

What happens on the day?

You will be warmly welcomed at registration by our daughter Liv (and the rest of Team Speakman) who will chat with you & provide you with a name badge and personal wrist band. You are welcome to enjoy a hot or cold drink before the workshop starts. In the workshop room, you can choose which table you wish to sit at. If you are coming along with a friend and need an extra seat to be together, that won’t be a problem either, as our team can move chairs to suit you. There will be a morning and afternoon break with delicious snacks for you to enjoy, and you can have a chat with us if you wish during breaks. A lovely 2 or sometimes 3 course lunch is also included. Social distancing and COVID safety rules will be in effect and observed where necessary.

What subjects do The Speakmans cover at the workshop?

The days are crammed with an abundance of helpful tips, techniques, approaches and information. Here’s an idea of what we will share with you:

  • How negative thoughts, beliefs and memories are created, and then affect your fears and anxieties
  • How negative thoughts, beliefs and memories can be changed, with The Speakmans’ 5 step formula

  • Understanding, and also techniques to address anxiety and panic attacks
  • Steps to challenge your OCD and compulsive behaviours
  • Why people get Post-traumatic stress disorder and how to overcome it
  • Looking at a more positive perspective with relation to traumas
  • How to positively restructure past painful memories
  • How to gain confidence
  • How to increase your self-esteem
  • Addictions and how to address food cravings, such as chocolate
  • Simple technique to make negative words and thoughts immediately positive
  • Healthier living
  • How to gain motivation
  • How to create a positive frame of mind
  • How to create a plan to design the life you’ve always wanted and truly deserve
What time does the workshop start and finish?

The workshop will start at 9am (registration is from 8:30am with refreshments) and concludes at around 5:30pm.

What about COVID, cancellation & social distancing?

As we are an educational workshop and an essential mental health resource, when there are restrictions, we have been permitted to go ahead – albeit with significantly reduced numbers. We have and will continue to follow all government and safety guidelines. All our workshops throughout the last year have ran safely with due care and diligence and without incident. We action necessary distancing in large, ventilated rooms, offering staggered registrations & safeguarding to ensure everyone’s safety and wellbeing. Wherever needed, this will continue to be the case. Should a workshop not be able to proceed, this will always be re-arranged to the soonest date possible to guarantee you don’t ever have to miss out.

Can I speak with The Speakmans & other delegates about the day before I attend?

Yes. You can join us every Monday at 8pm on Facebook live and 8:30pm on Instagram live. You will also be able to ask previous delegates online how the day helped them.
